Diploma in Business Management

This program will provide students with not only an appreciation of the theoretical issues involved in the study of the business, but with a range of practical skills which will enhance their value to potential employers.

Course modules

Diploma Part 1

The four compulsory subjects are:

  • Organisational Behaviour
  • Financial Accounting
  • Economic Principles & their Application to Business
  • Quantitative Methods for Business & Management

Diploma Part 2

The three compulsory subjects are:

  • Human Resource Management
  • Marketing Policy, Planning & Communication
  • Management in Action

Students must also pass two of the following options:

  • System Analysis & Design
  • Managerial Accounting
  • Principles of Business Law
  • Concepts & Principles of Islamic Economics
 
Examination
June & December
 
Certification

Upon completion of Diploma Part 1, the successful student will be sent a certificate. And upon successful completion of Diploma Part 2, the student will be awarded Diploma in Business Management (UK-NQF Level 5) by the Association of Business Executives (ABE)

 
Course Structure

Students will attend lectures, tutorials, seminars and group study sessions at the college. In addition, it is expected that at least 2 hours each day will be spent in private studies. Classes will vary and will include class-based instruction; self-study using computer assisted learning strategies, writing assessments and practical work in the labs.

 
Entry Requirements
  • ABE Certificate (in any programme) or
  • Have two GCE A- Levels and four GCSEs at Grade C or above, two of which must be in English and Maths or
  • Equivalent NQF level 3 qualification.(overseas)
  • Students with at least two years relevant work experience can also apply, even without any of the above qualifications (A reference letter from employer must accompany the application)
  • IELTS 5.0 or above
